HAPPY NEW YEAR AGAIN!

It is snowing - well - what a surprise! It seems everyone has it and of course it makes the countryside look even more beautiful. However, the freezing temperatures are playing havoc with water pipes to my barn and as all the sheep and horses are in while there is so much snow on the ground, I have to try to keep the water going. It has been so cold that the water freezes solid in the pipes and the lumps of ice won't clear past the ball valves in the troughs, so of course they freeze up again very quickly.
The cottages are nice and warm though and in spite of plenty of problems in the period coming up to Christmas, most of those have now been sorted; I think there may be some light bulbs and old fixings still to be replaced.
